Le Gallois’ Garden

We are so excited to be able to offer home grown produce in our food boxes which are available to order online. A big part of our time and effort these last few months has gone into our garden which will be fuelling the cafe’s lunch menu. Here’s what we have been up to since lockdown began!

March

The hard work begins by digging the garden and preparing the ground to be rotovated. Picking out stones and weeds ready to plant new seeds.

April

Courgette and pumpkin seeds were sown in pots indoors to speed up germination.

May

After the last of the frost had passed, we planted out our courgette and pumpkin plants and sowed beans, peas, carrots, beetroot and other vegetables in rows outdoors.

June

With all the sunshine and rain, the garden has blossomed! Our salads, radishes and herbs are used in our food boxes. We have also started harvesting baby carrots, strawberries & swiss chard.

Be sure to follow us on social media to keep up to date with all that’s going on in the garden!
